You never know who has access to anything you put out there. Obviously, everyone was told before the internet boomed in the past 10 years, to keep their personal and private information OFF of the internet. Now we live in a time where everyone does it. I ofc am equally as guilty, and I don't nearly put as much effort into keeping my personal life hidden from the internet as I should, but I don't really fear people finding out about me I guess.

As much as I'd like to say I've risen above the 'mainstream' -ness of having a Facebook and latching onto Social Networking sites, it also lets me keep in touch with many of my family members around the world, and old friends. That part of Facebook I love and wish to keep. I just wish there was something a little more private that could access all my friends and family members without having to sacrifice my private life.
Well said, Yoko! People I know used to give me a hard time about not having a Facebook account precisely because Facebook is a convenient way to stay in touch. But when people hear that I'd rather play basketball or surf than spend time on Facebook, and take a look at me (I do look like Onizuka from GTO), they realize that yeah, I have a life of my own, and it's pointless to look for me on Facebook rather than the gym.

But this gets me thinking - Maybe Facebook has made keeping in touch so convenient that ppl get lost in that, and as a direct result, completely ignore the sensibilities of online behavior. When something is very inconvenient to work with and takes too many clicks, everybody is talking about sensible ways to deal with it. But when an 'ultimate shortcut' has been discovered, sensibility gets thrown by the wayside.

i just opened a facebook id months ago.... before that i used to think this website is good for nothing as all the bad things spread through this website first.... but it is not the fault of the website.... it is because it is the most popular social networking site.... there are different kinds of people of the whole world.... though i think they can use a ban option to stop...or atleast discourage those messy people.... there are lot of things .... i think could be better.... but the best side of this website for me.... this is for everyone...i can find my relatives there and old friends.... i think all people have to do is to be careful about their post and their contact list.... so that ....nothing will mess up....

    yeah...all of the above....

.......and talk about what happen to our fb after we die... (there's actually an article about it, lol) need to be careful tho...

True friendship multiplies the good in life and divides its evils. Strive to have friends, for life without friends is like life on a desert island... to find one real friend in a lifetime is good fortune; to keep him is a blessing.
