Well, I think the members that would LIKE to be active, should post as much as they can. That includes all of us 'old generation' members, such as Baki, Righteous Rob, and Lj, we have to contribute where we'd like to.

For instance : I love the old series, just as much as any of you. But it's not going to help if we don't actually start threads, and contribute to them. We have to keep them alive, and the more of us that there are, the more we will inspire activity. :) I know Skull would love to post on some of those threads, and I'm not sure about Ryoga's preferences, but I know we're all in our mid to late twenties, early thirties.

I know we've all posted before, and they've failed. But we just have to keep trying. That's the only way to keep the forum and the topics or shows we love, active. I'll be doing my best to contribute, you guys should come back and do the same too. :)

It couldn't have been said any better :p

There are a couple of us who remember how it was before, so indeed we should keep on trying to bring it back :p

    Hi,
First I would like to say that I am part of this "new generation" and I for one LOVE to read. Which is one of the reasons why I don't post many posts. I wouldn't mind watching/ reading the "old generation" stories, but I don't know what they are, and what they are about- if I would be kept interested.

I have watched the cartoon Astro Boy (the 1980's ver.) so I am open to "older" shows. I would really like talking about manga and anime I have watched. The only problem is I may not have much to add, I don't watch the main stream popular animes (bleach, Naruto, One Piece). I have read some One Piece, but not enough to have an in-depth conv. about it.

If you could let me know some of the "good, old" stories I would be glad. Although I have a lot to read/watch at the moment, I would like to have a wider range of types of stories. I have more time to read than I have to watch anime.

I do still have school, so I may not be as active on the postings as I would sometimes like to be. But I will try to be more active because I really like Animea as a place to read manga and talk to others who share my love of this media.

You're one of a kind, Sun. ;) Ofc we don't mean EVERYONE literally, but there is a good amount of kids on the site now that are how we describe. Though I'm sure the generations before us, said the same thing about our generation.

The first thing I want to tell you : Don't shy away from the mainstream popular shows, like I did for so many years. You're actually missing out! Each one of the shows (Bleach, OP, & Naruto) has something seriously special. I'm an absolute Narutard, and I'm proud. :) And I've only read/watched it since last year.... man I should have been reading/watching it! So don't let the popularity turn you away. They're awesome. Though I would say for those shows, I find the Anime to be superior to the Manga, because of the experience, the music, the colour, etc. :)

As for older generation Anime, we'd be here all day. I can list hundreds of awesome shows for you. However, it's totally up to what your preferences are. Samurai? Mecha? Love? Magical? etc. Just let me know, I can recommend tons. :D

I have a lot of genres I like. Adventure, Action, Mecha usually, Samurai would be interesting, Romance, Comedy (which I really like), Historical sometimes. Not magical or anything to do with the occult.

If you recommend some, I can look them up to see if I would like them. Let me know though if it is one of those series that you have to watch a few to get into/understand them.

Ok, thanks Ame. I am not to fast watching anime as I am reading manga... so you can keep that in mind as well. Let me know if there is a manga that goes along with the series, and -if you have read it - if they follow the same story line.

    well said Coco sis!

indeed im having hard time catching up for new animes these days and havent been active for a long time but yeah there's no reason to shy out when you cant be in the new generation .... its all up to you what you prefer to watch.

as for me im random. the anime i watch is all up to my mood. like there are times i feel like watching/reading shojou if i wanna reminisce the feeling of puppy love LOL kinda corny but i feel like that.

at times i feel like crying so i watch/read some tragic genre. you can call me a bit masochist but i love the feeling of crying over the animes i watch and mangas i read. the best feeling EVER! that it touches your heart but your parents keep on nagging that anime/manga are for kids! duh!

there are some times that i wanna feel brutal/psychopath and i love the feeling of watching/reading over some blood. and i remember the manga i read a few days ago. deep, mature, psychotic but tragic :(

the best part is that watching those "intellectual" type of anime! cuz i have this "trauma" of my early high school life where my family keeps telling that i should stop watching anime cuz im not a kid anymore! demn! whenever i remember those times, i watch these animes(say death note, detective conan, full metal alchemist and lots more)... those anime reminds me and them that anime is not just for kids, it give life lessons too!

** and as for me late blooming LOL im proud to say that im a Bleach fan! though it was finish for a couple of years and i only watch the anime just this year, i dont care if i was a bit late to be a fan ... LOL

so be inspired people!.. oh btw im now hooked on Koruko no Basuke.... nice basketball anime after Slam Dunk.. *sorry about the rant*

Well, I'll say I don't like to watch anime at all anymore... to me they are pretty much the same all around(though same can be said about manga but lot more choices for manga and anime comes to an end before manga and is likely to be filled with a lot of stupid fillers) and I have way better time reading manga and I find the manga to be more entertaining than most anime adaptions as well reading manga is less time consuming. As to why I'll likely never(hardly) be seen in manga discussion exception to naruto and bleach is simply because most manga I read I'm not sure much others read them... I pretty much dodge shoujo which most people here seem to read... as well I find it difficult to convey my thoughts into words and really don't like getting into well constructed discussions, it draws too much on emotions...

it varies though. some of are better than the others for me.

like some of the anime's are way better illustrated than on manga, take Soul Eater i find it more detailed and "beautifully" drawn than the manga. but i have to agree *though i havent read the manga my self* the story is waaaaaaay better than the anime.

and also in anime you get to see them in action, moving, that a manga cant do. hahaha
