Favorite Chapter ?

I really like the first chapter:Onikakushi-hen, since it contain so many memorable scenes. Like the needle in the rice ball or when Keiichi goes nuts and pinch Renas finger in the door.

The eye opening chapter is my second favourite chapter. I think it's the scariest one. The scene when Shion is forced to pull out three nails is in my opinion the scariest moment in the anime...

I voted for Tsumihoroboshi-hen because it really is eye-opening. Poor communication between the government officials and the relatively uneducated public will eventually lead to illogical atrocities on both sides. The relatively uneducated public needs an explanation [for government actions] they can believe. When one is not forthcoming from the government, the replacement explanation that the public comes up with may or may reflect reality, and the whole situation gets messy and out of hand. Higurashi series, IMHO, does a really good job of demonstrating that point.

I voted for Meakashi-hen because it reveals quite a bit about the characters even though it was mainly focused on Shion and a bit of Mion. This was probably the chapter that had the most killing and torturing scenes as well.

I enjoyed the chapter where Shion was the main character. There was so much emotion in that arc. I don't remember the name of the chapter though.
