I'll be very surprised if Byakuya is actually dead. o_o It will have been the FIRST major good guy to fall compeletely in the series.

Strange... Captains are dying trying to kill the SternRitter and Kenpachi walks up with three dead SR on his shoulder? Maybe they were SR underlings... ...or actually Vandenreich, but not Stern Ritter.. Maybe Kenpachi yells "Bankai" at the top of his lungs and then chops their heads off while the SR are holding up their little Bankai-stealing devices... Hahahaha...
...and he hasn't even removed his eye patch yet...
Is Byakura really dead? I dunno... I think he is currently dead, but... two things could bring him back to life... Orihime could "reject fate" and bring him back to life ...or... Maybe Unohana has some healing abilities we haven't seen yet... Maybe her Bankai has super healing powers...

Interesting plot twist indeed.The SS is in deep trobule, so I wander what sort of measures they gonna take.Was hoping they would do something desperate like letting Aizen loose thoWell I hope Byakuya is not dead. But personally I think it makes no difference to him.Tho it is very nice to see Kenpachi doing well... that guy never needed Bankai so far. :D

I dont know that we've ever seen zaraki at full power...every battle he has ever fought, he "plays" around to get cut up and then pulls ahead at the last minute, but he is clearly pissed off and operating at full strength since he doesnt have a scratch on him, but if he indeed yells bankai then proceeds to slice their heads off, I think he might just shoot up to my top favorite bleach character. If kira is dead that was very anticlimatic for a character who has had very moderate developement. At least if byakuya is dead, he had a good death scene

Sooner or later... Aizen will play a part in this...
On the surface it seems like Kenpachi will be the ultimate slayer of the SternRitter invaders... Stronger than most Captains without using Bankai... However... The SR invasion plans have singled out Ichigo for special action... and the SR seem to know everything about each of the Shinigami Captains... My gut tells me that the SR will have a special, individual plan for Kenpachi, too...

I'm a big Kenpachi fan, too... Nothing would make me happier than to see Kenpachi kick the SternRitter leaders butt... Just doesn't seem like the time or place for that to happen, though...
