This genre provides complicated stories centered on the mental condition of the main character[s]. His/Their behavior might suggest struggle with mental problems, although it doesn’t have to be clearly stated, if the character is really mentally instable. Psychological anime/manga’s plot often deliberately confuse the audience, by showing only contradicting each other pieces of information about the characters, breaking the linear way of telling the story or reversing the meaning of reality and dream, truth and false, or good and evil.
