Shotacon Anime
The term “shotacon” is a Japanese portmanteau of Shotaro complex, a reference to the young male character Shotaro from series Tetsujin 28-go. It’s used to describe a complex of sexual attraction towards a young and/or underage boy. Shotacon typically features relationships between young boys and adult women [so called straight shota]. Yaoi shotacon features young boys, but includes men or other young boys, often in explicit, sexual situations. The female equivalent to shotacon is lolicon.
