Zoids Genesis Review

Zoids Genesis was the most recent Zoids anime series and it didn't disappoint.

The Music in this series was good, with battle music that kept you interested and opening/ending songs that were enjoyable.

The animation in this series has it's ups and downs. The character designs are excellent and distinct which also goes along with Zoids designs. However, the animation of the Zoids themselves was rather disappointing. The motions, especially running, wasn't as fluid as it should be but nonetheless, the battles were still great. Murasame Liger and his multiple forms were great and seemed very reminiscent of Liger Zero and his armor changes.

The storyline and characters are where this series shines. Another wartime story like in Chaotic Century/Guardian Force, but better. Military empires taking over the world after the planet already dealt with a devastating catastrophes that's isolating people around strange plants called generators. The inclusion of different side characters was very smooth and never forces and the constant plot twists regarding characters backgronds was pleasurable. The enemy in the series is pure sadistic evil which is good quality to see in an anime bad guy. The back story of villain and the eventual plot twist that includes the people of the sky and their secluded lifestyle only makes the show more enthralling.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this series however there is one think that irks me and always will. The ending of the series was fine with the final battle and the good guy winning however, since Ruuji's goal was to save his village and they briefly resolve that plot line at the end of the last episode, I couldn't help but be disappointed. Also, the other characters not having their plot lines closed was depressing. At the end, you are glad they won but you just want to know what happens to Kotona's home, Ra-Kan and Rei Mii's people, and Garaga's people.
