“I grew to love it. :)”
(Please do refer to info sites [like Anime News Network and the like] for better plot of the series. Thank you! ^^)
Card Captor Sakura's original run was in 1998.
'RELEASE!'
If you have watched CCS, then you're familiar with the chant Sakura says upon releasing her key before she can capture or seal the cards. :)
Some might be wondering why I wrote a review for CCS to this day. After all, I did mention its original run in 1998. I first watched it on Philippine television in 2000. I was in grade school back then.
I really grew to love this series since it first aired in our country. It was probably the first anime I thoroughly researched on-- from the characters, name origins, character profiles, pictures. Thus it awakened my sudden addiction to anime and got me interested in Japanese stuff.
No matter how many times it's aired already, it was one of the few series I loved watching all over again. The characters are adorable as ever, and the plot is simply one of a kind. I'm a fan of the music used in CCS, too.
I thought it's pretty amazing how the two arcs (Clow Card Arc and the Sakura Card Arc) made the whole series more meaningful in terms of the plot and the character behind every character. I think CCS is perfect just the way it is. CLAMP made a breakthrough with this one. After all, it won an award for the anime (Animage Anime Grand Prix prize, 1999) and the manga (Seiun Award for best manga, 2001).^^
