Air TV Review

All I can really say about this anime is 'WHAT THE HELL!' I actually really enjoyed this anime. I loved everything about it. Well written storyline, nicely developed/developing characters and beautiful artwork. The only thing that really throws me off is the ending. But than again, what anime ends happily? Or even really ends at at? Most of the time you end up staring at the screen going 'This is it? THAT was the ending?!?' This anime is no different. It's about a guy, Yukito, who is searching for the 'girl in the sky'. Like his mother before him, he set out on a journey with an old puppet, putting on shows to make money while he searches for this special girl. This girl is cursed to dream terrible nightmares until eventually, they kill her and the process starts all over again. She has be reborn over and over again for hundreds of years and the only real reason you can find as to why, is because she was a 'winged being'. Like that should really make a difference. Monks are evil sometimes...putting curses on innocent people. The anime has three different arks (and only 13 episodes!). Each one tells a different part of the story. The first ark tells the story of Yukito arriving at this town and trying to survive while on his journey. He meets some very...interesting girls and helps them out with their unique problems. Each one is connected to this 'girl in the sky'. The second ark takes you back to where the story began, 1000 years before. The only real problem with this I had was, they didn't really explain what was happening. And for a moment, it was like I was watching a completly different anime. The last ark shows the story through a different perspective. Very interesting because you get to see all the things 'behind the scenes'. Overall I really LOVED this anime...and will probably watch it again and again. Because it was just that wonderful...besides the ending.
