3x3 Eyes Seima Densetsu Review

this is the continuation of the first OVA. in this anime, the story took place some time after pai disappeared in hong kong. by this time, benares, the main bad guy in the first OVA, started to make his move. he sent a message to all "creatures of darkness" to bring pai to him. yakumo went back to japan, hoping he would find pai there and somehow protect her from benares. and he did. but, the pai he met seems to have amnesia. she doesn't remember him or any of the things they've been through. she doesn't even remember being a sanjiyan. so yakumo took her with him to tibet in order to search for pai's lost memories.

okay...the animation is a bit better and the characters, especially yakumo, seems to be more worthy of their roles. yakumo, in particular, is more suited for his role as a wu. all that training in tibet really paid off. he can fight now. ^_^

the truth behind the extinction of the sanjiyan unkara was finally told and the reason why pai was the only one left surviving. also, an interesting twist in the story...the one who was really in control of pai the whole time was the snake howasho. howasho was a servant of benares and she was ordered to seal pai's memories. however, the sanjiyan in pai seemed to have a unique effect on her and she somehow believed that she was actually pai and not a monster snake. and in the process, fell in love with yakumo. now that was unexpected. i never dreamed that there would be a development like.

this anime is a major cliffhanger. pai the sanjiyan returned and howasho was given another chance, probably by pai, as a human. so howasho is now living as a normal high school girl. but what happened to pai? did she ever return back to japan to be with yakumo? or did she stay in the holy land?
