Trigun Review

Trigun is one of the best loved anime series out there. The main character Vash, is a mysterious man who seems to be running from his past. Everywhere he goes, trouble seems to follow which is why an insurance institute decided to sent two agents to try to keep track of him and decided of he should be named as the first human "Act of God." Vash is given the title "The Humanoid Typhoon" because of his "destructive" tendencies. Vash is not a mad man out to destroy the world however, in fact, he is quite the opposite. He is goofy, but his intentions are always good. Often times his humor or silliness is juts masking what he is really thinking about.

Vash is the best gunman around. He also seems to have an uncanny ability to dodge bullets and to fire amazingly accurately. He never kills people though, because of an event that occurred in his past. He is often put into dangerous situations in order to save other innocent people.

The world in which Vash lives is very similar to our own, except for the fact that technology seems to be both more advanced than our own and more primitive. There are several technologies that exist that the inhabitants have no idea how to make, only how to use. This poses several problems when things start to break down and specialists have to be called in. The world is itself a vast desert with human towns miles apart. This sets Trigun up as an old western style series with hints of sci-fi thrown in. Because of all of this, Trigun in one of the most unique shows out there and its quirky humor and action set it apart from most anime out today.
