One kid Hanamichi Sakuragi just challenging without thinking about the opponent. Without knowing what basketball is, challenged the basket ball captain. Now raising the team spirit and trying to win heart of his sweet heart. They keep facing the better opponents and they keep on winning or losing(in some cases), but only convert it into a heart over-whelming win later. Do see the whole anime to find out how good our hero or should i say "Genius" becomes. Does he wins heart of his sweet heart or he loses to his sworn enemy and team-mate Rukawa, who actually knew how to play basket-ball before joining the high school team. Together with his team-mates, Reyota Miyagi, Mitsui, Kogure, Rukawa, and the sweet heart of Miyagi "Ayako" the shohoku high defeats really good team of ryonan, shoyo and other in order to be able to compete in national tournament and unbelivelingly they did come on the second postion, only to be defeated by Kainan, to complete the dream of their captain,referred as "Gorilla", will the team of Shohoku High win the national tournament?? I know the answer you too find out. Watch to get the answer. If you are bored to see only basket ball, then be happy as there are some fights too, as when Mitsui joins the team. you will really enjoy how gud Hanamichi Sakuragi self praises himself only to be pitied by his team mates.
