"Good for a VG OVA"

For those of you who don't know, Ar Tonelico is a PS2 game. I'm not going to lie, I love love love Ar Tonelico~!

However, objectively, the animation isn't really as good as it could be. The art could have used a little something extra, although I can't really pinpoint what it is. Maybe just extra time? The story was very rushed, as they tried to cram a lot of storyline into a very short time frame. It's disappointing that the focus of the OVA was more on Lyner/Orika, rather than Misha, Jack, and the others. It does, bring a new light to the Ar Tonelico story, and provides more pictures for screen shot opportunities.

On it's own, the OVA doesn't make much sense other than a random anime episode. Your personal enjoyment will be greatly enhanced if you play the game. Although, then game has also been criticized by reviewers as well. It's refreshing to see an OVA of Ar Tonelico no matter how rushed it seems. The reason is, that the characters are sprites in the game for the most part and just pictures of the characters pop up to clear the dialogue. There's also not many cut scenes. So you can probably tell why, even if it's a good game, one would definitely want to see an OVA for it.

There's really nothing that I can compare this OVA to, it sits in a category all its own. I can't help but wish there were more than one episode though.

Oh heck, in the time it takes to read my review, you could have already seen it for yourself~! I promise you won't be disappointed.

So, GO WATCH THAT AR TONELICO OVA NOW~!
