“Ronin Warriors Review”
Ronin Warriors, animated in the late 1980's, tells the story of five legendary warriors out to stop the evil world-takeover bid by Netherworld demon lord, Talpa.
The story begins with Talpa's attempt to takeover the world with his four dark warlords, Anubis, Dais, Cale, and Sekhmet. Five mystical heroes emerge to protect the world and defeat Talpa and his minions. With the help of their armors, Ryo of Wildfire, Sage of Halo , Kento of Hard Rock, Cye of Torrent, and Rowen of Strata battle the forces of evil in order to restore peace on Earth.
Although short (being only 39 episodes), Ronin Warriors does an excellent job of portraying an epic battle. Like most other anime of this genre, Ronin Warriors also depicts a struggle against a powerful foe where the heroes must "dig deep" and find a hidden strength within themselves. Although this type of story has been done before (a team of fighters fighting a difficult foe bent on world domination), Ronin Warriors has a set of characters that you grow to love throughout all their struggles. The depth of the characters was one of the main reason I began watching anime over ten years ago. As a youth, you could understand the depth of the story and the emotions while also learning a little about values.
The sound overall was pretty good, with the dubbed voices matching to the characters personality. The theme music, especially appearing during the major fights, is catchy and unforgettable.
This series is recommended for all fans of fighting anime. Relatively short, Ronin Warriors delivers the action and excitement you crave.
