Itazura na Kiss Review

Anime :
"Itazura na Kiss" is a recent anime that's still airing in Japan. It's a love story of two high school students. The director of the anime is Osamu Yamazaki and the studio is TMS Entertainment.

Alternative title : Mischievous Kiss

Story :
It basically is a romance and comedy anime where the main character is a girl named Kotoko Aihara. She has been in love with a guy named Naoki Irie of her school for two years and finally decides to confess to him by writing a love letter but unfortunately the guy turns her down and doesn't even accept her letter by saying "I don't want it". That comes to her like a real shock and because of this incident she became a matter of gossip in the whole school. Moreover, the guy she loves is probably the most talented guy in Japan and of course very good looking. He is known as a genius to his friends and relaives. Meanwhile Kotoko's father makes a house but in a level-2 earthquake the newly built house got smashed. As a result she and her father went to live with her father's frind's family. To Kotoko's utter surprize it turns out that the guy she is in love with is her father's friend's son. Thus the story continues and Naoki gradually begins to fall in love with Kotoko.

Manga :
This is a manga by Tada Kaoru and published in 1991. It was a great success and because of its huge popularity two TV series were made on the it. The name of that drama series is "It Started With a Kiss". But the manga remained unfinished because of the author's unexpected death in an accident. Even so the manga is still very popular among the manga readers.

Comment :
"Itazura na Kiss" is a very cute and funny anime. Though the anime has cut some scenes off the manga, it still pretty enjoyable. But Kotoko is so dumb and Naoki is so talented that it seems quite unreal. Still the anime is getting very popular among the anime fans.
