Afro Samurai Review

Afrosamurai is about an african- american samurai who seeks revenge for his father's death,who was killed before his eyes when he was just but a kid. His father was killed because he had the #1 headband. Whoever posseses this headband gets "god" powers. One inherits the headband by killing the current owner of the # 1 headband. The then owner of the #2 headband sought out afrosamurai's father killed him and inherited the headband. For afro to avenge his father, he had to become a killing machine, abandoning his friends and killing his master just to reach his goal. He has to rise up the ladder and gather other headbands along the way- despite the many obstacles since he was not the only one seeking the #1 headband- till he got the #2 headband.He got the #2 headband by killing his guardian(and master). He also had to kill those coming after this headband since he had to have it to challenge whoever has the #1 headband. Eventually he challenged the one who killed his father(who had te #1 headband) and kills him, inheriting the #1 headband and the "god" powers.
The idea leading to this anime was great, but the storyline was weak and short spanning only 5 episodes. It however makes up for it with its comical animation, bloody action and lots of humour. Bringing in Samwel L Jackson to do the vocals for afro was brilliant. The hip- hop soundtracks, well....made it even more interesting
Samurai champloo would fall into the same category with afrosamurai.Afro samurai is more humourous though!!!
