"Fun and Exciting Twist on Average Video Games"

.hack//ROOTS is an anime prelude to the popular video game .hack//G.U. Haseo, the main character, is a beginner to popular online game called The World. He joins a guild led by the powerful player Ovan called The Twilight Brigade in order to find the legendary Key of the Twilight. Throughout the series Haseo faces many troubles and mysteries concerning The World, The Key of the Twilight, and Ovan himself.

And now on to the technical stuff. While watching this anime I found that music was very unique, enjoyable, and memorable, and soon found myself downloading it so I could hear it all the time on my iPOD (shh don't tell!). The animation was definately better than most, and the fight scense were intense and enjoyable. The plot was interesting and kept me watching and entertained, and I don't remember a single moment I got bored, in fact I don't think I ever did. There were a wide range of characters, from Ovan being mysterious, to Haseo being uptight and stiff, to Shino being kind and fun.

Overall, this anime is a definite must for people who like something different. There aren't your average fighting adolescents here; in fact, we don't see the people behind the PCs ever. Its definately different, definately enjoyable, and a definite reccomendation from me.
